Community

University UMC is a Community Partner!

  • University UMC works closely with many Service Agencies in the Topeka Community.  Among these are Doorstep, Let’s Help, Fellowship and Faith Ministries, and the Topeka Rescue Mission. Each of these need and welcome volunteers.

  • Scouts - Our church has housed the Boy Scouts since 1910. Various Boy Scout and Cub Scout groups meet at the church several evenings a week.

  • University Child Development Center (UCD) This center has been housed in UUMC for over 40 years, nurturing and educating children of college students and Washburn faculty. Well trained staff are here to care for your children while you attend Washburn.

  • College Hill Community: Our church hosts the annual College Hill Chili Feed, offers legendary thrift sales for the community, provides space for Washburn music student recitals, and lots more.
  • Mission Trips: Our members participate in many mission trips across the United States and Mexico. What a wonderful way to experience more of God’s love.

  • Our United Methodist Women hold numerous fundraisers throughout the year to provide financial support to these community organiztions: (Click to enlarge)
